DGS Gives Back :)

Every year, we experience catastrophe, typhoons, heavy rain fall, and disaster.
We can't prevent these scenario, but we can try to avoid them.
By staying Clean and Green
and
Be a responsible earthling!

Recently we experienced a heavy typhoon, #Maring and #Habagat (version 2.0)
It 's really scary and deadly for those people who lived near by the river
It really broke my heart watching the news :(

so after two days of the non stop rain,
I tried to ask my highschool alma mater
Divine Grace School,
If they will organize a donation drive like last year
I asked my former teachers, then two days after,
Sir Aspa advised me that the school is now accepting donations.
I'm very glad that I can these people even though in a simple way.

I gathered my resources, ransacked my stuff and prepared things that I can share to them

I brought my donation during their last day for donations.
I met my former teachers.
"It's good to be back home"
(I've stayed at DGS since 1993 up to 2006)
Soooo??? imagine that haha!
 enough with the nostalgic part.

We started segregating the stuff from
food to clothes,
 Noodles to canned goods,
clothes to blanket and many more.
here are some of the photo recap:

 Hi sir Gary! :)

(D)onation + other (G)oods = (S)ervice :)

It was another year for a bayanihan project for my alma mater,

Last August 7, Monsoon surge hit Manila so badly like Ondoy disaster before.

so DGS came up with an idea of conducting a donation drive, like what we had last 2009 for Ondoy victims.

here's a quick recap of  our donation drive.

Year 2009, Ondoy hit Manila and other provinces so badly. It gave a huge disaster in our country, especially Manila and it caused a massive distraction to properties and lots of people died because of this. Our alma mater conducted a donation drive, with the help of the social networking site, we were able to spread the news and find vonlunteers for the drive.

My fellow graceans, opened their hands to help and donate goods for the Ondoy victims.
It was my first time to join a donation drive for typhoon victims. I was in college in that year, luckily, me and my friends were free to be volunteers that time.

teacher Waldy Canalita, Sheila, me, Enah and sir Jordan Fernandez

volunteers, happy hands :)

Successful Donation Drive.
We are very happy to help them.

After 2 years,

This year another disaster for the philippines.

Hagupit ni HABAGAT,
It's not a typhoon, but only a monsoon surge
But it caused a huge disaster for the country, a tragic day for the Filipino.
Lots of people lost their home, clothes, lack in food.
Through the help of the social networking.
My alma mater thought of having a DONATION DRIVE again.
With the help of the social networks (facebook) they asked helped from my fellow graceans.

by the time they started the drive, I wasn't able to come and help them because we had an emergency at home so I just decided to bring my donation a day before the last day of the drive.

Look at those helping hands,
eager to help 'kapwa pinoy"

I salute you guys!
